Winged Foot Golf
Club during the
final round of the
2006 U.S. Open
turned out well
for one Pound Ridge, N. Y., resident. Sixteen-year-old
Daniel Stewart, who was struck on the leg by the tee
shot, turned Mickelson’s bad luck into his 15 minutes of
fame when he was selected to appear in a 30-second
television spot (photo, above) for Crowne Plaza Hotels,
currently airing nationally. The advertisement features
Stewart and five other people who have related stories
involving errant Mickelson shots. Stewart, who caddies

Good Times
Providing yet another valuable service to area golfers, the
MGA has partnered with Tee Time Watch and will launch an
expanded Places to Play section of mgagolf.org in June. This
joint venture will enable MGA members to book tee times
online and take advantage of special playing opportunities at
dozens of Met Area courses, stretching from the Hudson Valley to Westchester County, New Jersey, and Long Island. In
addition, a few courses outside the MGA boundaries but
within an easy drive away will also participate, as will other
selected courses around the country. Be sure to check
mgagolf.org and the MGA’s e-Revision Newsletter for more
information on this exciting development. You’re only one
click away from booking tee times!
